Esko, Amoeba - Photos & thoughts from the years 2009 - 2025

Amoeba describes the feeling of stagnation and being caught in a loop where things never truly change. The artist's book by Iina Esko is based on analogue practice and consists of text and photographs by the artist. The photographs are taken on 120 mm film using Mamiya 67 and 645 cameras, and the book is hand-bound by the artist. The work examines the experience of stasis and continuity, as well as recurring cycles of expectation and withdrawal, through the metaphor of the amoeba.
