KPOP FIFTH GENERATION is a book written for fans of Korean pop music about where this world-changing genre currently is and where it is going. The book is a unique Finnish-Ukrainian collaborative project, the material of which has been collected on three continents. The authors' own concert footage is included from big names such as BOYNEXTDOOR, ARTMS, IVE and aespa. The book focuses on the latest phase of K-pop, known as the fifth generation. Alongside bands that have made a global breakthrough such as BTS and Blackpink, new names have emerged – and phenomena such as the KPop Demon Hunters film and the use of artificial intelligence. Making music using K-pop methods is also of interest elsewhere, and the book introduces the music industries of Japan, Thailand, China and the Philippines. Are you new to K-pop? No problem, in the text we will review the history of hallyu, or the Korean Wave. And K-pop, including its terms and abbreviations, without forgetting the biggest Korean record labels and their marketing machines. For those who are still hesitant to experience K-pop live, the book includes a reportage of one fifth-generation idol's world tour concert on a big stage. She has studied the Korean language, lived in Korea, and continues to research the culture that inspired the book. She is STAY .
