Hämäläinen, Dads do Dinner- Good Food for Hungry People

The ethos behind Dads Do Dinner is simple: to put good food on the table for the whole family, without fuss or gimmicks. The book is by two seasoned food professionals who not only cook for a living, but take charge in the home kitchen, too. The 60 easy-going recipes have you covered whatever life throws your way, from everyday meals and weekend dinners to special occasions. Weeknight staples such as spinach pancakes, smoked fish bake topped with cheese and chicken stir-fry make way on Sundays for herby meatballs or rye-crumbed vendace. For evenings on the sofa, you'll find burgers, pinsa toppings and smash tacos. A festive barbecue menu takes you from caramel pork to roasted summer salad, while a tempting selection of sweet treats is sure to please the whole gang. Joonas Hämäläinen is a food writer, retailer and Finland's first MasterChef winner. Having recently welcomed his second son, he knows that food is one of the best ways to make the most of family life, purées included. His recipes are big on flavour and low on effort. Serko Rantanen is a chef and restaurateur with more than 20 years of experience in professional kitchens. At home, the father of two teenage boys serves up spicy flavours from around the world, Finnish classics and quick pasta dishes for game day. He has a soft spot for cooking over an open fire and for slowly simmered stews.
